The Bagnell Dam
Over 20,000 men were employed to work 24 hours a day after construction of the dam began in 1929. It was completed 22 months later in 1931 and the total cost to build was approximately $30 million (nearly $360 million in today's money). State Parks

This park contains more than 3,600 acres with 12 hiking trails, eight caves, picnic areas, playground, castle ruins rich in history, and more. 4.8 million gallons of water pump through the natural spring at Ha Ha Tonka each day. The Missouri Department of Natural Resources administered a 9 mile aquatic trail. Boaters will enjoy a two-hour excursion that runs from Public Beach No.1 to Grand Glaize Beach (located within the Lake of the Ozarks State Park). Once launched, participants on the trail will see everything from a logging chute, caves, and more natural beauty of the Lake of the Ozarks.
