Halloween weekend is here and it's time to slip into your best nautical themed costume! If you're a lake lover attending a costume party to celebrate Halloween this year, we'll help you choose your favorite sea faring Halloween costume. From the youngest member of the family to your water loving pooch, we've got ideas for the whole family! Don't forget, if you want to spend this beautiful holiday weekend on the water - BomBay Boat Rental Co. is still renting the best tritoons and speed boat options on the Lake of the Ozarks, reserve your boat today and plan on a spooky good time!

Pirate

From Jack Sparrow to Captain Hook, you can't go wrong with a pirate costume! There are great famous characters to choose from, and one of the best parts - you get to talk like a pirate all night long! "Argh. You Scallywag!"

Sailor

Another classic nautical costume is the sailor. A generic sailor is a great way to go, or there's always Popeye - especially good for showing off those muscles! This costume can easily be adapted from adult to kids, and will be comfortable to wear all night long.

Captain

Do you prefer to show off your classy side during Halloween? Try a ship captain costume for your next holiday party. You can stand tall in your white jack and pant suit.

Mermaid

There are so many variations of the mermaid! You can go classic, you can go cartoon, you can go vintage. No matter what your finished costume looks like, you'll be sure to impress. There's always a long red wig with your name on it!

Sea Creature

We've seen jellyfish, lobsters, sharks and squid! There are so many underwater creatures to choose from, and you can make any of these critters scary or friendly! With a little searching you can find nearly all sea creature costumes in child and adult sizes alike.

Pets

Don't forget that other family member that loves to spend time with his or her favorite humans during Halloween! There's always a costume option for your water loving pooch but don't forget, if Fido isn't as interested in dressing in costume as you are, consider letting him or her wear their "birthday suit" instead!

BomBay Boat Rental Co. loves summer, but autumn does have it's perks. Halloween is a holiday that can be celebrated on or off the water and the boating season is not quite over! We've got the boats for your holiday party, so if you're planning to express your passion for the water in one of these nautical themed Halloween costumes, rent a boat from our Camden on the Lake, Lake Ozark location by calling 573-365-1800.

Halloween Costume & Movie Ideas for the Boat Lover

The best boat rental company at the Lake of the Ozarks is still open for business.  You can still give us a call and reserve a boat or jet ski rental any day, but we realize that Halloween night you probably won't be out on the water.  Because of this, BomBay Boat Rental Company has some suggestions for you that keep boating in the forefront this holiday.
BOATING COSTUMES

Your love of boating and everything that goes along with it can show loud and clear through what you choose to wear this Halloween.  There are plenty of incredible ideas out there revolving around the boating world, both real and fictional.

  • Ship's Captain
  • Sailor
  • Pirate
  • Octopus
  • Jellyfish
  • Mermaid
  • Poseidon
BOATING MOVIES

As long as you are a big enough lover of boating to not frighten yourself away from it, there are some great movies out there featuring water, boats, and some big aquatic creatures.  Some are scary, some are cheesy, but if you are up for it, you may enjoy these old favorites.

 Friday the 13th
Everyone has heard about Jason and Crystal Lake.  This movie not only makes lakes creepy, but Summer camp and hockey masks too.  If you like it, there are plenty of sequels to watch all weekend long, including a more recent remake.

Creature From the Black Lagoon
You know how sometimes when you are in the lake and something brushes up against you, but then it's gone before you see it?  Well, it can't possibly be a prehistoric creature like in this 1954 horror classic.

 Ghost Ship
When a salvage crew finds a long-lost ship floating in the Bering Sea, they prepare to tow it back to land.  The ship has other ideas.

Dead Calm
You don't normally get hitchhikers on a boat, but if you do, beware!  They may not be as innocent as they seem.

 Jaws
"Just when you thought it was safe to get back into the water..."  Actually, that tagline is from Jaws 2, but you get the idea.  A gigantic white shark is terrorizing everyone, and a police chief, a marine scientist, and a fisherman are the ones that have to stop it.

Lake Placid
This time, it's a giant 30-foot-long man-eating crocodile out to destroy everyone in its path.  Who will save the people of Black Lake, Maine?

There you have it.  You can get all dressed up and go out for Halloween, or stay in, turn off the lights, and settle in for a scary movie.  With these suggestions from BomBay Boat Rental Company, you don't have to forget about your love of the water while you enjoy the holiday.  No matter what you decide to do, please have a very happy, very safe Halloween weekend.  When you are ready to get back on the Lake, we'll be here, ready and waiting for you.
