It's Time for Spring Harbor Hop at the Lake!

The Annual Spring Harbor Hop is happening this weekend, on Saturday, May 5th! Boating season has already stared at the Lake but when Harbor Hop rolls around it's truly the kickoff to boating season at the Lake! If you've never participated in a Harbor Hop at the Lake of the Ozarks, it is so much fun - and you don't even have to know how to play poker to participate! If you don't own a boat so you can still join in on all the fun because BomBay Boat Rental Co. has you covered with boat rentals at the Lake of the Ozarks. How the Harbor Hop works:

You may begin at any one of the over 40 checkpoints participating this year by making the suggested donation of $20 per hand. You are more than welcome to try your luck at multiple hands if you are feeling lucky. Your first card is drawn at the spot where your hand is purchased, and you may gather your other 6 cards at whichever 6 spots you feel like "hopping" to throughout the day.

The final hand is turned in where the 7th card is drawn, but for an additional $5 you may draw a bonus 8th card! Most importantly, make sure that your hand is turned in by 7:00 p.m. so that it counts and you are eligible for the prizes! 



You Can Be a Winner

Get your boat from the best boat rental company at the Lake of the Ozarks for a full day of playing on the water... you also get a chance to win prizes too! The actual amounts will depend on how much money is collected that day.

2nd Place: 9%
3rd Place: 8%
4th Place: 7% each

Fishing at the Lake of the Ozarks

Spring is a popular time to go fishing at the Lake of the Ozarks but if you don't own a boat it can be tricky to find a great fishing spot if they aren't biting on the shoreline. The lake is full of fish and you don't have to be a professional angler to enjoy a day fishing on the lake. The fish are plentiful at the Lake of the Ozarks and today, our boat rental company at the Lake of the Ozarks has some info about a few fish you could catch! 


Bass

You can catch these fish throughout the year, but fishing is the best for them in the Spring and the Fall. They are the most active early in the morning and at dusk. Many tournaments in the Lake area are dedicated to this particular fish. You will find them anywhere between 9-15 inches in length and anywhere from 1/4 pound to just over a pound, although larger ones have been caught around here.

Crappie

Crappie in the Lake are generally 9-13 inches long and around 4 pounds but can be bigger. Small jigs and minnows work the best on crappie. This is one of the most popular panfish caught in Missouri. You are most likely to find them in open water closet to plenty of covers, like trees or brush that have fallen into the water. You can find them all times of the day, but night is when they are the most active.

Catfish

This fish is a popular one to catch and cook at the Lake. They love open water. You are most likely to find them well away from the shoreline, often in deep flats, river channel breaks, and the mouths of coves. They vary in length anywhere between 20-44 inches, and can weigh as little as 3 pounds and as much as 40 most of the time. Rumors of "monster catfish" run rampant in the area, and although this is a tall tale, catfish have been known to have been caught between 80-100 pounds. 


Walleye

Since the mid-1990's, the Lake has been stocked with Walleye. They seem to prefer brightly colored jigs. Using jigs tipped with nightcrawlers and minnows works extremely well too. They make their way up to shallower waters at night, but they tend to hang out in pools that are 12 feet or deeper during the day. Their weight varies between 8 ounces to 8 pounds most of the time, but they can get larger. They are usually 12-28 inches long.

Bluegill

Fisherman enjoy the flavor of the bluegill, and so do larger fish. They prefer to inhabit warm, clear water where there is plenty of cover. A school of about 20-30 are normally found swimming together. Most of them are just over 9 inches long and weigh around 12 ounces.

BomBay Boat Memberships

5-day membership Monday Friday Access Only (No Weekends)

Membership Fun Fee $4,200.00 (Only paid one time)
6 Monthly Payments $325.00 (April – September) (10% disc if paid once)

7-day membership Monday – Sunday Access

Membership Fun Fee $6,500.00 (Only paid one time)
6 Monthly Payments $425.00 (April – September) (10% disc if paid once)

Shared 7-day membership Monday – Sunday Access

Membership Fun Fee $8,000.00 (Only paid one time)
6 Monthly Payments $600.00 (April – September) (10% disc if paid once)

As a Member:

You will receive 6 Days of advanced reservations. These can be 6 separate
days, two 2 day rentals, or, one 6 day rental. These days can be divided up
however the customer chooses.

After that the customer has unlimited access by calling 7 days in advance
and you can keep the boat for 48 hours.

Members have 2 options concerning damages to the boats.

1st Choice: Have a damage deposit of $1000.00 on a credit card.

2nd Choice: Pay $300.00 annually for a protection plan that will protect up
to $2000.00 in accidental damage.

3rd Choice: Pay $65.00 each time you take a boat out for a protection plan that will protect up to $1000.00 in accidental damage.

Members are responsible for the fuel that they use.
As a boat member, you have access to our waverunners. Boat Members can take
waverunners for 4-hour intervals and can reserve a waverunner 7 days in advance.


BomBay Waverunner Memberships

As a Member:

You will receive 2 Days of advanced reservations. These can be 2 separate
days, one 2 day rental. These days can be divided up however the customer
chooses. After that the customer has unlimited access by calling 7 days in
advance and can keep the waverunner for 24 hours if it is available.
After that the customer has unlimited access by calling 7 days in advance
and you can reserve the waverunner for 4 hours at a time.

Members have 3 options concerning damages to the boats.

1st Choice: Have a damage deposit of $300.00 on a credit card.

2nd Choice: Pay $200.00 annually for a protection plan that will protect up
to $1000.00 in accidental damage.

3rd Option: Pay $35.00 each time you ride the waverunner. This will protect
the customer up to $500.00 in accidental damage.
